I designed three book covers for an exhibit at the Library of Congress. The designs focused on the meaning and message of the book. The cover should express the author’s belief’s, point of view, and/or agenda behind the story. The three covers have different requirements. One should be type only, the second should be handmade and the third is the designer’s choice. Each design must also use one of the seven creative strategies. The book that I have chosen for this project is Great Expectations, by Charles Dickens. I felt like three of the meanings that the author was trying to show were: things are not always what they seem, crime and punishment, and those that don't learn from the past tend to repeat it.
